What are hose & pipe machines?
Hose and pipe machines are the equipment needed to build a hydraulic hose line: machines that cut the hose, skive its cover, crimp the fitting and bend or flare steel tube. MCF Flex has designed and built these machines in its own Ostim facility since 1967 — the GPY, GPM and GPD press series, the GKS cutting-skiving machine and the GBB tube bender are all our own manufacture.

Die Cabinet
Steel cabinet for the organised storage of crimping die sets in different sizes. Sets are held in compartments by size so the required die is found quickly.
Details & Table →
Foot Pedal
Foot pedal with protective guard. Provides hands-free actuation of the press so the operator can start the crimping cycle while holding the hose with both hands.

Operator Mirror
Adjustable-arm mirror mounted on the press body. Lets the operator see the crimping zone and the far side of the hose without leaving position.
Details & Table →What to look for
- Crimping capacity
- The machine must cover the largest hose diameter and reinforcement type (2SN, 4SP, 4SH) you work with. An undersized press cannot reach the required crimp diameter on heavy hose.
- Die range
- The press opening must span every size from the smallest to the largest die set you use. A wide range lets you extend your product line later.
- Duty level
- Compact models suit service vans and small workshops; PLC-controlled, high-tonnage models suit series production.
- Spares and service
- Buying from the manufacturer matters for die supply and long-term service. We provide continuous spare-part support for the machines we build.
Frequently asked
How does a hose press work?
The press drives die segments towards the centre simultaneously under hydraulic force, crimping the ferrule onto the hose by cold deformation. Crimp diameter is set by the die set and stroke adjustment; the joint is complete when the catalogue diameter is reached.
What capacity press do I need?
The largest hose diameter you work with decides it. Mid-tonnage models are enough for service work up to 1"; 2" and 4SH hose needs the high-tonnage GPY series. Tell us your requirement and we will size it together.
Do I need a separate cutting and skiving machine?
The GKS series does both on one bench. Skiving is only needed for hose types that use skive ferrules; with no-skive ferrules the step is skipped.
Do you provide training and installation?
Yes. We support installation, die selection and operator training for the machines we build. Contact our sales team for details.
